CEO & President, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo in Austalia to announce Sponsorship of Australian LGBTI Awards, Same-Sex Marriage On-Board
Sydney, 12 October 2017: Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises’ CEO & President, has today announced the cruise line as the headline sponsor of the association2018 Australian LGBTI Awards as well as the commencement of same-sex marriages onboard Celebrity ships.
Adam Armstrong, Celebrity Cruises’ managing director said partnering with the 2018 Australian LGBTI Awards was a natural fit for the luxury cruise line that is committed to diversity and inclusion throughout its operations.

The 2018 Australian LGBTI Awards are Australia’s biggest awards dedicated to celebrating the LGBTI community and their allies, recognising both corporate and celebrity role models.
As a sponsor for the first time, Celebrity Cruises is pleased to support, champion and recognise the inspirational work done by many to influence and make positive changes for the LGBTI community. The sponsorship of the 2018 Australian LGBTI Awards resonates with Celebrity Cruises long legacy of inclusion and equality for all guests and employees regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
The 2018 awards sees some of the country’s biggest LGBTI supporters nominated such as Courtney Act, Kyle Sandilands, Conchita Wurst and The Veronicas. Overall, over 6,000 people were nominated across 16 categories, including Celebrity of the Year, Sports Personality of the Year, Ally, Brand and Marketing Campaign, Community Initiative/Charity and Inspirational Role Model. Winners will be announced at a special red carpet gala dinner on Friday 2 March, 2018 at The Star, Sydney.
There are two main groups to the awards, the Public Award Category and the Corporate Award Category. The Public Award categories are entirely decided by the public vote. Voting for the below shortlisted nominees is now open at www.australianlgbtiawards.com.au.
The Corporate Award Category looks at CEOs and Diversity Champions in the business sector. The winners in these categories will to be decided by an esteemed judging panel that includes Les Girls legend Carlotta, Broadcaster Julie McCrossin, SBS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Michael Ebeid, LGBTI Activist and Model Ollie Henderson, Disability Discrimination Commissioner Alistair McEwin and PwC Australia Partner, Suzi Russell-Gilford.
